Personal Commentary:
What you see in the pictures are his creations. A rather overwhelming landscape that has to be experienced first-hand to be truly appreciated.
His workshop is like a playground. Medieval weapons on the walls, and there is a large stone fireplace whose chimney exits the house as a large, smoke-breathing dragon. Peacocks, geese, chickens, chipmunks and more wander freely around the property adding even more of a surreal feel to the entire place. And if you want a real treat, strike up a conversation with him.
Ok, this isn't an abandonment, or even yet a place of historical interest. Yet I would definitely classify our time here as being an exploration.
