In operation between 1934 and 1988, Ross Mine produced over 1 million ounces of gold. It was owned, at closing, by Pamour Porcupine Mines, Ltd.

UPDATE July 5, 2012: Thanks to the heads-up from Jay's comment below, I discovered that the property is about to see action again. Guardians of Gold plan to reprocess the tailings behind the mine to remove trace amounts of gold.

UPDATE January 18, 2020:  It has come to my attention that almost all of the buildings at this location have been demolished.  Only the headframe, hoist and one other building remain, according to Google Earth imagery.

Personal Commentary:

As it stands today, it is almost exactly as it was the day it closed. The shaft is not capped, and all outbuildings remain pretty much pristine.
